Skilled Employer Sponsored Regional (Provisional) Visa
This visa enables regional employers to sponsor skilled workers to live and work in regional Australia.
The employer must be an approved standard business sponsor to nominate an employee under the Subclass 494 visa.
RCB Certification
A Regional Certifying Body assessment of the annual market rate salary is required.
Company Nomination
The employer must lodge a company nomination prior to the visa application lodgement.
Visa Application
Applicants must:

be nominated by an employer whose business is lawfully operating in Australia. Before you can apply for the visa, your employer will need to lodge a nomination application for you;

have relevant skills, qualifications, and work experience:

have a positive skills assessment issued by the relevant skills assessing authority in your nominated occupation (certain exemptions apply);

have 3 years full-time employment experience in the nominated occupation, at the skilled level;

be under 45 years of age when you apply for the 494 visa (certain exemptions apply);

be able to demonstrate the required level of English.
What you can do when you have this visa

Work only in regional Australia for up to 5 years for your sponsor.

Live and study only in regional Australia for up to 5 years.

Travel to and from Australia as many times as you want while the visa is valid.

If eligible, apply for a permanent visa.
