Working Holiday Visas - 6 month work limitation update

The working holiday visa is usually subject to a 6-month work limitation with the same employer.  From 19 January 2022 to 31 December 2022, the 6-month work limitation has been temporarily relaxed, until reviewed by the Government.

The Department of Home Affairs has advised, after 31 December 2022, a working holiday maker visa holder may work with an employer for up to 6 months, despite any period they may have worked for that employer prior to 31 December 2022. Therefore, there is the potential for working holiday visa holders to remain with the same employer until 30 June 2023.

It is important a visa holder complies with the conditions of their visa. Failure to comply with the conditions of the visa can impact future visa options or result in the cancellation of the visa.
