Temporary Parent Visa - Subclass 870

The Subclass 870 visa is a temporary visa for parents of Australian citizens, permanent residents or eligible New Zealand citizens to visit Australia. The visa is valid for 3 or 5 years, depending on the application.

Unlike, the permanent parent visa options, there is no balance of family test or Assurance of Support requirements for the visa.

There are two stages to the application:

(1) Sponsorship

(2) Visa Application

Applicants must meet health and character requirements for grant of the visa.

Applicants must have and maintain adequate arrangements for health insurance.

This is a great visa option for parents of Australian citizens and permanent residents wanting to spend an extended period in Australia.
