New Work and Holiday (Subclass 462) Visa Pre-application Process
In the 2024-25 program year, the Government will introduce a visa pre-application process called a 'ballot' for high-demand Work and Holiday (subclass 462) countries: China, Vietnam, and India. Applicants will be required to pay an AUD25 registration fee for this process.
The ballot is an electronic random selection method designed to ensure fairness, efficiency, and transparency in selecting applicants from these countries, where the number of registrations exceeds available spots in a given year's program. Registrations for the first Work and Holiday visa ballots for China, Vietnam, and India will open later in 2024.
This process will exclusively apply to first-time applicants for the Work and Holiday (subclass 462) visa from China, Vietnam, and India. Those from these countries who have already been granted this visa can still apply for subsequent visas online via ImmiAccount.
The current application procedures for first, second, and third Work and Holiday (subclass 462) visa applicants from other participating countries will remain unchanged.
