My application is refused - is this the end of the road?
You may have recently received a refusal for an application.
Do not despair, you may have options available to you including the following:
1. Request for the refusal to be vacated
A refusal may only be vacated on limited circumstances such as where the Department of Home Affairs have made an unlawful decision
2. Merits Review
You may have an option to lodge an application at the Administrative Appeals Tribunal (AAT) for a merits review of the decision within 21 days after the day on which you are taken to have received the refusal letter
3. Re-lodge an application
Depending on what the application is, reasons for the refusal and your circumstances, there may be an option to re-lodge an application
4. Lodge an alternative application
This may be an option if the requirements can be met
