General Skilled Migration minimum points increased
The minimum points required for skilled migration has been increased from 60 points to 65 points from 1 July 2018. The change impacts all applicants who had not yet received an invitation to apply for a Skilled Visa.
Obtaining 65 points does not guarantee an invitation to apply for a visa. From recent SkillSelect results applicants have required a minimum of 70-75 points to receive an invitation to lodge skilled independent 189 visas.
It is important for applicants to maximise their points prior to lodging an Expression of Interest (EOI) for a skilled visa. This can be achieved in various ways include obtaining maximum points awarded for English and State Sponsorship.
